thanks

I wrote this about a year ago one night. I was amused that the crickets in my yard had stopped chirping, one by one, as if going to bed, wrapping up their daily routines. I thought, "wow, they're like us. In a way we're all connected, God made us similiar in that sense." Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers when I suggested that God was inately involved in the lives and sleep patterns of insects, lol.

my fragile feathers

OK, I get it, don't mind me, although I don't tend to use the word god I do dig the interconnectedness of things and regard spirituality as science we don't understand yet. I do tend to get my feathers ruffled about anything to do with religion because it seems to cause more harm than good in the world, whatever the creed.

respectfully

ok my friend, as I hope you know, I really respect your opinion, your intelligence, and your talent. With that said, there's a couple of things I'd like to say: I've noticed you had the same theme in any of your replies to anything to do with God, and you've explained your reasoning very succinctly. What I would say to that, however, is that when I am posting anything with God in it I'm not trying to beat that down your throat, but you seem to jump on anyone who bring's Him up, which seems like you're defeating your own purpose. Secondly, yes, many, many, many people of all faiths have completely blown it, we just don't understand the message. Human beings are capable of being ugly, ugly creatures. That is the danger of free will, the gift that was given to us. Even looking at the heroes of the Bible, it is not stories of perfect people doing perfect things. Far from it, most of the stories are about imperfect people and bad situations which God is able to turn around. Have terrible things happened in this world? You bet. Are Christians horrifically responsible for many of them? Absolutely. Do I have all of the answers? Buddy, I don't have any. I'm one of 6 billion people in this world just trying to figure things out. But I do know this: the God I serve is a kind, just, and loving God. And I will follow Him. But we are not here for debate. Instead we can help each other with our writing, and we can help the newer writers here to find their voice. I won't continue to preach, but I will be resolute when I say that Jesus saved me, and he wants to welcome you to the family. Be well, Mark
