Don't Waste My Time

If I didn’t have beauty that you wanted to possess
If I had no talent at all
If I had no attatchments of any worldiness

Would you see the beauty I have inside
And the important things that I too often hide.
Would you reject me for the things I am not.
Would you hate me for the things I haven’t got.

Would you push me aside when trouble appears.
Would you suddenly act like you’re deaf, and can’t hear.
If I turned ugly according to the world’s point of view
Would you suddenly say that we were through.

Would you tell everyone that you’re better than me
Just because we don’t agree.
If I trusted you with all of my heart
Would you rip me open the very first time an argument starts.

Can you see deeper than the surface shows.
Would you be there through sadness and strife.
Would you be able to care for life.
If you cannot answer honestly
Then please don’t waste your time with me.

high school

this is a really good poem over all and i can't help but think about peer pressure in high school when i read this, someone may like someone but when their so called friend says something about how they look or act then it's over ............ welcome to the new generation.$DEY KNOW$

Thanks...

Unfortunately, this all too often carries over into adulthood. Sad, but true. It is human nature to nitpick and look at someone else and say something. True maturity starts when you can look at someone else as if you have walked in their shoes...and instead of choosing to not understand and judge...instead, you choose react in love and compassion, with empathy. Thanks very much for reading my work, and for leaving a comment! Wolfycat.
