Die Your Daughter
I don’t want to have a daughter.
But I long to raise one.
I long to raise her to be loved and beautiful.
And when I say beautiful I am talking about her soul.
And when I say loved I mean that is what she will be full of.
I don’t want to have a daughter.
I don’t want her to live a life that was never meant for her,
I don’t want her to go through a world that will hate her as soon as she cries.
I don’t want her to go through what I went through.
Inevitably so.
I too am a daughter, and I will make sure I die before I can meet her.
I will not have her, but I long for her.
I long for her to live a life that I was supposed to live.
But I will let her exist in my day dreams instead of my womb.
The little girl I was supposed to be.
