Creation of Shahenda
I am partly the moon
From the radiance of the sun
I am partly the earth
From the quenching of the rain
I am partly the sun
From the gravitation of the Galaxy
I am partly the water
From the winds of the atmosphere
I am partly the plant
From the photosynthesis of light
I am partly the daughter
From a father unknown
I am partly the sister
From siblings of others
Read the rest of the poem Show less
I am partly the wife
From the desires of other
I am partly the maid
From the needs of gaggle
I am partly the chief
From the lust of taste
I am partly the painter
From the scenes that haunt me
I am partly green
From the found object collages created
I am partly the word
From the poetry I weave
I am partly myself
From the world around me

About Me
Ellenelizabeth Cernek-Kashk is a North Bergen, NJ resident, who began her love of writing in sixth grade. Her teacher gave an assignment to write a poem. After her teacher read Ellenelizabeth first poem, she gave her a blank book and a new pen, telling her to never stop writing. She had found the love of writing which has continued all of her life. Along with her love of poetry, Ellenelizabeth is also a painter and photographer and enjoys combining arts with her poetry. Ellenelizabeth had many opportunities to travel, and has written about the places, cultures, and people that has touched her life through her poetry. Ellenelizabeth has been published in “The Rift”, “Wings Literary Magazine”, and on several on line poetry sites.
