Kaleidoscope
I write poems
so as to give life to the words.
With a beautiful red silk
ribbon,
I tie a bow
on each one’s neck.
As I’m holding them into my fist,
they seem like spring butterflies.
They start to fly,
wandering happily into my room.
Every time, I see a swarm of them above my page,
I am so grateful.
Grateful to see them hovering around,
telling me how different this world would be,
if only it was made of
butterflies and flowers.

"As someone who was famous on this site, but it now no longer with us, said to me when I was learning how to write decent poetry (still learning!), "Your poem is too prosaic, too wordy." So here are some suggestions. "I…" -

"Mostly, creative writers embraces midnight as a preferred atmosphere for creating their thoughts on paper. But here it seems you lost the idea or the subject You intend to write. (E.g) ...the moon shines away!" -

on ticking clocks from @Jackweb
"A poetic unit of three lines can get your eyes glued, mind and thought to read aloud and try to unveil the entire body of a poem. Tercet or triplet is fancy, apt and very understandable." - December 2021

About Me
Hey everybody! My name is Arjiris and I come from Greece. I hold a MA in Creative Writing and I love writing and reading. For me, poetry isn't just another writing genre, but it's a whole creative process that helps me find a new piece of myself and express the feelings I can't tell to other people. I write about everything, whatever inspires me every time. I draw inspiration both from my favourite poets, such as Sylvia Plath, Ann Sexton and e.e. Cummings, as well as from my favourite musicians. I'm also interested in artistic forms of poetry, such as blackout and erasure poetry, and digital collage.
