A Brief Forever

In the rush of a heartbeat, at twenty-four,
He found what he’d never been looking for.
Two lives colliding as their youth hit its stride,
No reason to wait and no reason to hide.
With the fire of their heart and promises deep,
They took a vow they intended to keep.
The first year was magic, a space for just two,
Painting the walls in a hopeful shade of blue.
They learned how to budget, to compromise, to grow,
Planting their dreams in a neat, narrow row.
The years turned to six—a steady, slow beat,

Seethe Door

I fell fast awake

A dream within a restless dream
Silent knocking plagues my paralyzed, drowning scream

Panic shadows whisper on faint breath
Heart races toward my baptismal Death

Tussle with the Knob with all my might
Blacking out, hairs raise my neck in fright

Will it take me, break me, or reveal the truth of what makes me?

Fear is the leech that bonds my very core
A sixth sense lies beyond what’s in store

I awaken, never to open the seething door.

An Ode to My Former Abuser

You broke me over a thousand times
pushed me in the deep end
and watched me drown
You robbed me of everything
that brought me joy
took the clothes off my back,
spat in my face
Locked my laugh in a jar,
made my tears your toy

Dream

I suppose
this day must end.
May you, beneath
its shadow, Friend,

fancy a place
to ease your soul,
caress your heart,
soothe and console

worries that cause
your wrinkled brow...
may those thoughts fade,
at least, for now.

And may the softness
of Eventide,
comfort your spirit,
rest by your side

while stars of wonder,
heaven sent,
shine o'er you, sleeping,
your day now, spent.

Death and dying taboo subjects...

not far from the lips when in earshot of Amelie
my eldest sister undergoing chemotherapy
for lymphoma of the breast
and a couple of other suspicious areas
on her skin in close proximity.

Now a cursory overview of Harris highlights
to help the reader understand mein kampf.

Yesterday, March 26th, 2026,
she left a voice message
after weeks of inactive communication
with me, a singular brother,
who cares about her welfare
since the day of my birth
January 13, 1959.

Vengeance in the Devil’s Den

The moon, a severed eye of bone, watched the cabin where love was shown.
But shadows creep, and lead will fly, when crooked stars burn the sky.
The sheriff’s heart, a cold, black kiss, turned her sweet life to dark abyss.
Rope on her neck, taut and deep—a promise of a cold dark sleep

The sky was bruised with violet veins,
a gallows built of rotted pine.
The Sheriff held the heavy chains,
and crossed a dark, eternal line.

Who am i ?

Who Am I?

A question asked in search of truth.
A broken mirror
reflects the many different parts of me.

The quiet observer,
learning and mimicking,
trying to fit in.

Constant exhaustion
without exertion.

An actor,
typecast in a role
I didn’t audition for.

A deep thinker
that thinks too deeply.

Feeling the lows
and rarely experiencing the highs.

Walking through life
a step behind everyone else,
in an attempt to copy,
to be accepted.

Im Scared For You

Who are you
What have you become
Im scared for you
I know what I'm losing
It hurts me
I can't see you or hear your voice
Im sorry I had to

Morning mosaic

Burned my lip
On a sip of hot coffee
This morning.
It pushes my thoughts of being present
In this very moment,
Questioning life
And everything else.

An incomplete mosaic
Of a thousand pieces
Standing in the reflection
Right across from me.

A dose of caffeine,
The scent of the morning and
Parts of me on the other side
In my peculiar mind
They don't clash.

The tree

Standing strong in the storm
without a move or shrivelling up
durable trunk covered by scars
of vandals who scraped out their hearts
on your bark. But still…
protecting what's inside

Gust of wind, the dance of branches
messed up the hair, leaves everywhere,
falling down to be trampled on ground
Growing up to create a wall
Between the sun, joy and you,
to cool you down in his shadow
