Sweet Moments

Something sweet
isn't always made of sugar.
Sometimes it's the way
a quiet morning
waits for you-
soft light pooling
on the window sill
like it has nowhere else to be.

It's the sweetness of a road
you know by heart,
the one that curves
past old barns and stubborn fields
where every passing moment
seems to remember your name.

a Bridge too Far

I travelled on a bridge too far
with tourists in a yellow car
above a strait beneath a cloud
as dark as an unholy shroud

our mouths filled with the ashes
of 120 children
inhaled by three breaths of savagery

our hearts hollowed out by their hands
gifting apples and wax rainbows
on reality as thin as paper

our eyes black with blood
to hide one man's guilt and
another's greed

Holliday and Ringo

Two shadows stretch across the morning sun,
Doc waits where Wyatt was to be.
The game isn’t finished and the race isn’t run.

Ringo stares, his arrogance undone,
to find the ghost beneath the oaken tree.
Two shadows stretch across the morning sun.

I'm your huckleberry, says the dying one,
a final debt for all the world to see.
The game isn’t finished and the race isn’t run.

Two hammers cocked before the work is done,
one faster hand to set the spirit free.
Two shadows stretch across the morning sun.

Kathy’s Song

I built you a monument in acid rain – my blood work just for you.

You made me feel like somebody.

Eventually, just like a child of entertainment.

Perpetuously, I oscillated between blind trust and pain.

A new error, as I see now – in my grief, the aftermath.

Only love can hurt like this.

And yet, I still believe it to be beautiful.

In a manner of speaking, I am just an analog guy in a digital world.

But not tonight. Because hope dies painless.

Red eyes from the pill I took.

For now, I am a robot, hear me glitch.

The Sun Says Goodbye

The Sun says goodbye
The moon appears in the sky
Bringing on night’s sigh

British Camp

An unimpeded sun can still not shift
the snow from British Camp; it lies pristine
upon the slopes we make our tracks between,
shading eyes from the thick and dazzling drifts
where diamonds appear to sparkle and dance.
After Giant’s Cave the summit is close,
the dogs chase shadows, perhaps they see ghosts
of ancient Romans gazing this expanse,
who must have cursed this freezing hilly air
and dreamed of a return to Southern warmth.
Worcestershire, Herefordshire lie below
it now, twelve counties can be spied from there.

The Version Without Hesitation

Rewriting Memory

Money, I chose money over education
Earning a living was a need but it had an effect
I made my way up but then I hit ceilings
I knew there was growth in me in retrospect

And no matter where I went or where I landed
I moved up in some way but couldn’t go higher
There was something missing I knew I had to get
So I’d become the one they wanted to hire

Speaker of the House

Mike Johnson (R-La.) the current Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. A Republican representing Louisiana's 4th Congressional District, he was first elected to the position on October 25, 2023, following the removal of Kevin McCarthy. Johnson was re-elected to the position at the start of the 119th Congress in January 2025.

Speaker of the House
without her presence,
she left an amplified
vacuum quiet as a mouse
with a craving for Melba Toast
and Manischewitz.

Missy my love
You are the sunshine of my life
I am happy that we love
Each other
Missy you give me
Lots of kisses
Sweater than honey
Also Dad
Play with you every day
Also I have lots of energy
After I finished playing
With you
I get totally warn out
And I need a sleep
So you put me inside
My cage
I am already used to that

Working Man (language)

I will not go to work today
for sanity has gone astray
Yes, my home's the usa
I can't support its toxic way

Although I need the income, true
distaste replaced red white and blue
The House of Cards has come unglued
It seems we all are getting screwed

Like rubes before its crooked wealth
a loser's hand we all were dealt
I can't afford to risk my health
..donald trump can fuck himself

I won't support its deadly way
I'll be no slave to don today
