Boots

My weather boots,
black with peace symbols
scattered knee to toe.

I don't remember when
they came to be mine,
but I've befriended the
creeks they've trotted
through that ramble along

virgin woods feeding
old wells of homesteads
long gone, hidden under slate.

Worn, they rest by my
back door, fresh leaves
clinging to their skin,

folklore about glaciers
softened into their soles.

Something of a prophecy!

I had a vision of
God and His angels,
coming to visit
our unworthy planet

Great destruction
is soon to take place,
because of our love
for material things.

Our pride will gut us
in an unsavory way.
There will be no looking back,
on that prophesied day.

What in God's name
have we done with His heritage.
Seeking so opulently,
for things we can't possess.

Our children despise us as
we neglect their upbringing.
No longer will He stand for
our impudent ways.

witch way now?

Run, Run, marjorie greene
wash all your money until it's all clean
convince the whole country you're not really mean
your reward is a'coming for being obscene

go back to the swamp where witches convene!

Witch's Curse (Archaic)

Thou hast incurred a witch’s wrath!
Woe unto thee, a pox upon thy life.
Thou hast betrayed our sacred bond,
(and didst con me,)
Piercing mine heart with whetted knife.

Thou didst weave a spider’s web of lies,
A tale of remission now undone.
Thou didst proclaim an end to thy reprieve,
Of nights of anguish stretching through the dawn.

Thou hast stolen both my gold and faith,
Our holy friendship shattered, broken.
Thou hast wrought upon my love, now forsaken—
Mark well the words that I have spoken...

I need it now

I need it now
God I am a homeless
I am begging in
The street
For something to
Eat
I need something
To eat now
God
I haven't eaten for days
God please feed me now
I am starving
And also dehydrated
Please give me
Some water to drink
I found a cooler spot to sleep
I needed that cooler now
God I need some
Shelter
Please give me some shelter
Now

Blinded

Behind a veil of dark deception,
Chaos churns in wild confusion,
Within a den of ruthless thieves,
Guided by a sly delusion.

Puppets snap their strings,
Handlers left in shock and shame.
We gulp the steaming word-soup,
While Power grins and shifts the game.

So go ahead -

Wave your flags to show your favour,
Hide in pitiful cracks of despair.
Turn your backs on the chaos,
Whilst fatefully glued to your chair.

Citizens Bank manager
in Trooper, Pennsylvania
lit up space like a live wire,
and I braced myself
against shaking our hands
(upon first greeting me
after walking thru the doors)
lest a shock pass thru me
analogous to a lightning bolt
striking yours truly out of the blue
after seeing her
standing righteous and proud
(as she rightfully deserved
acquired her station in life
courtesy indomitable perseverance,
I presume most likely never did tire

I Am Winter.

I am winter.
Branches stripped to the bone.
Reshaping my roots
Beneath frozen ground.

There’s a stillness,
A pause
To appreciate the journey thus far
And prepare the soil
For what I’ve yet to become.

There’s a patience in the frost
Reminding me that growth
Isn’t always visible.

A mirror of ice
Once fractured—
Scattering my reflection

Mended by frost,
Its veins become
Fragments of light

💖 The Persistent Patter Forty Years

The quiet love, past fire and quick release,
has settled in, a rhythm, slow and deep.
And then it comes, disrupting all the peace,
a sudden, unexpected stir from sleep.

It is the itch, somewhere beneath the sleeve,
or on the wrist, a nerve too finely strung;
A sharp reminder we can't quite retrieve
the words we meant, the songs we haven't sung.

Bundle of Joy

You’re such a Bundle of Joy!
That's what you are.

Every time I see your beautiful face,
you resemble a sparkling, shining star.
With your smile gleaming bright,
bringing happiness near and far.

Your positive interactions, let’s me know
that you are satisfied with my presence.
And I could never tolerate your absence.

Always glad to have you near me.
The hugs and kisses that you display frequently,
informs me that you are happy, happy, happy.
