lapsed sanity

I caress the black
leaning into its soft
velvet hold, hoping
to blind the agony

but,
the reflection of my sadness
overwhelms and sickens
I swallow nails with each gulp
food carries the stench of death

uncaring of a torn psyche
I continue to look back
searching my mistakes
rehashing every word

with each glance at our end
a slice of sanity is lost
and consistently shaking
my anchor is breaking loose

..vulpinera...

drenched
a seasoned brocade
of sandy shorn terms
worn vestments
and dipped warm
chrome eschewed
through to the
terse brass

vineyard palette
on sardine gunwales
brackish mud
on iron anchored
ideals

drawn eye with
a least effort
like a white wing
on a pacific
notion
the pure cloth
of a dress
not comforting
the thigh
stretched in
an undulation
in sails of wind

Ball

What are you doing on the floor in animated
conversation with someone else, while the
music plays and the bodies twirl with
each measure, steps taken not alone, every
hand a pair in embrace, why don't you enjoy
this human harmony with me? You are downstairs,
and I, I'm up here, studying you as though you were
an interesting specimen - a thing to be adored
and untouched, why? I am unmasked, and all
intentions are revealed in my eyes and the folds
of my face, I should hide behind something,

mourning woe
wound in its sinister thorn blend
a room with embers
for exertion
the cold fuel of romantics
that you pressed against me
like a damp branding

slipping into love like
a comforting dress
winter as moving as
a funeral motorcade

the smokey eyes
the dark shade at
the corners of a plump
angels mouth

eyes full of stars
like wishes
broken from the
dream
in a mirror burst
the sun on all the
shards
beneath footsteps
of pained dignities

The Second World

The Second World

The space vast and pure
It was so full
Pulsing life and love
Within dwelt a Spirit

It was so hard to be
As an entity moving free
Was there a purpose
Did it mean anything?

I could answer my questions
Yet held back in awe
There all around
Like energies flowed

Soft light forms
Thoughts of all things
Surrounding images
There was the meaning

Simple yet hard to find
A purity that swelled
Then the reality coalesced
Everything was here

Venus

There's
something sculpted
about you;
statue-like, perfect.
Aloof with
the cool confidence
of a monarch.

Your gaze,
it cuts through me
with a cold heat;
unseeing, uncaring.
Am I not here,
or your regard
doesn't fall so
low

I can't be here,
for you don't
see me
fall to my knees.

Cupid's switched
his bow and quiver
for a .50 caliber.

Boy! it smells so good!

Close the door, sit down
till knuckles on the door sound
"Hey there hurry up"

Stand up, open the door
Scowl above sound of the drain
"Hey you messed it up"

Disinfect the mind
brood over a piping brew
for something to chew

When nature calls again

Unleash the garbage
with a carefree resounding
burp of the verses

"Boy!, it smells so good"

From the Diary of an Ordinary Woman

I
don't want
to grow where
white and grey mix
to conquer my hair.
Where fickle, erratic
furrows dig in everywhere,
Then all the beauty would let loose
and erode with happy memories
leaving me only loneliness to care.

D..i..z..m..

semi turgid life..
the tide in and gone
and the moon sleeping
half lidded behind the cold
winter freeze

our city traffic and snow heaps
scraped bare lots in the lost seasons
christmas lights and trundled bundled
passers by exchanging polite
sentry notations

pasta dish on sale
and the television burble
todays sweet soma to
reveille the call of a day
at rest

So I Let A Darling Go

I promised I will let one darling go,
I'll open the cage and shoo it out,
let it live all by itself
in the wild,
where scheming hunters (not unlike
yourself)
may pick at it, and when you're done
I'll be pleased to hear your thoughts;
they're treasures too, you know?
