The spring emerged
clasped in damp slates

byzantine eyes
the nervous times

Formality in the weight
of a cough and retractable
pen
a smooth balltip sturdy
the words startled and
tediously calm

Wild orchard
a sky full of
color clung to
branches
curved in new
routes

Windows
with fresh
seeking
nights

driven in
the drive
to survive
behind the
wheel
of fortunate
toil

The Change

They want you transformed
in the twinkle of an eye.
They know no other task,
it is for your own good.
You are on the way, however
still tarry searching for the coins
others drop along the path
seeking to return some day.

The Southern Door (Feb Contest)

Close it!
Don't let it open.
I don't want to leave here
where peace resides.

The darkness here is bliss,
the gentle beat of the heart,
the sweetest lullaby.
The warmth here signifies life.

I know I won't stay here forever
A time will come for me to leave
when my body is complete
and I'm too big to stay but..

let it be a whole nine months
before the southern door is wide open
and I leave to meet the world
with all of its beauty and ugliness.

the Honesty Flower

I'll tell you the tale of the Honesty Flower.
Yes, truly, there is such a thing.
And crave one, you will, for your own private bower,
once hearing the song I’m to sing.

There once was a handsome, but lonely young prince,
who wanted to find a good spouse.
A fun-loving fellow, but not just that, since,
it seems that he also had nous.

He gave every maiden, who lived in his kingdom,
a seed to plant, nurture and groom;
and told them he, truly, would marry the one
who grew the most unblemished bloom.

You can but can't

You can take a horse to the source of water
He will bray and nod his head as in nay
but then you will alone be a cause of laughter
he will then at you kick and say neigh, neigh!

first para of a sonnet today
come someone say
how did Loved
bray?

Deseri

Krome and black
curved as sensational as your back
hung my heart as cheap as it was
your four speed two door
you broke in through the doors

aphrodisiac perfume
the expensive lick of purple
candles
suffuse your room
Thursday Child
far to go

love stalled and fallen
push start to roll

"unzip me"
a calve lain across
in the tube screen
threshold glow
pull it from your ankle
grip show

HE WHO WOULD JUDGE

I have read all the entries
while sitting here beneath a light
taking all the time I please.
I sure do wish that ya'll could write!

This one here? it just won't work
( I know the author's politics)
and he must really be a jerk
his ideas give me nervous tics

And this one only has near rhyme;
I guess the writer must be lazy
and thus hardly worth my time.
I reckon he must think I'm crazy.

Keyless Door (Feb Contest)

the door I entered from
and by which I'll eventually leave
is destiny,
in between, I live
verily

HAPPINESS!!

I would have married happiness
if happiness was a man
and cuffed its hands-
if a thief - to mine,
I would have caught it-
an infectious malady,

for that would gurantee
dying blithely :)
