FORBIDDEN HEARse

"U dont understand, I love her!"

the wind picks up scattering the umbrellas away
the flatbed with its faded black paint loaded up
with scrap tilts in the wind

Jory jumps in slamming the Merc's
door...."Shit"
Salvatore lights his butts with an old
lighter...the truck is rucking tough
his blue eyes have seen the Atlantic
in the last torpedo hours

"Girlfriend is laying down"

I RECALL, I recall...

Too many years now in the past,
awakening to a feast's fragrance
and the sound of kin folk gathering
as final leaves desert the trees.

The battle fought 'most every year
to keep "pluckers" from an early sampling
of turkey or some favorite dish
with resultant slap of hands and laughter.

At last the gathering around
the adult as well as children's tables
while Grandpa offered up our thanks
in that still remembered deep bass voice.

Decent Shape

Glove box
piles of her foil wrapped treats
like trinkets soiled in her perfume
unspun them while she spun
the wheel
the streets like a carnival ride
summer streaming across
us and the top a big top shadow

baby seat in the back
and dark eyes on the road
Blue like an edge where the
coral meets the deep
and Edge where the shark
intuition swam...her fin
sunken and sharp

and this is life

and this is life

Marriages are made in heaven
make them a success on mom earth

beautifully pt across marriage is
only come promise to me

else, compromise will ye
all marriages can be made happy
if you don't do anything
that would make another feel sorry
why did he or she marry
and worst of all you!

THREE THINGS FOR OLD AGE HAPPINESS HE SAID IT
I ONLY SHARE IT

READY, AIM.........

Let loose the red eyed horses
to pull the rattling hearse
for the battle just begun
is destined to grow worse.

And loose the hounds of hatred
to demonize the wretched foe
so death can be dealt sans hesitation
in fields where blood shall flow.

Beat the rage into cold steel
to replace gentleness within your chest
for killing must now become easy
while on this unforgiving quest.

Just Waiting

Just Waiting…..

The cocktail waitress is on
the ugly side of the bar,
her hand clutches her bourbon
as her eyes begin to close.
She still has dreams of being a
great Hollywood star, but she
shivers at the thought of her
last audition, when she froze.

GISMAL

the barren tub
dust on the room
the furnace hum
how I stay away
from rooms
and television
helplessness

Deep depth scepticism
nothing help but an
exorcism

i like my water dark
and my candles black
once ventured
the souls can not
come back

valleys of summer
lightning in the
wind and the growl
of thunders
tongue working its
way

the lights flickering
the fan faltering
with each wall
shaking detonation

Relaxing with a Dram of Scotch

The sun splatters memories
in dapples, on my outstretched legs
as I sip thoughts, contentedly,
from history held in a glass.

And within these moments appears,
in the final notes of twilight,
contentment and an end to fears
in the wake of Dusk's last measure.

So with the day, so pass my cares,
as Night embraces Day's last breath
and saunters among, unawares
of naught, save exhilaration.

The Lighthouse seekers

All the lightening ridge along We drove
All day, through dappled warmth and cool
Under canopy abode, and slid along
The road, to the perpetuity of waves

Beauties heaped on beauty, climbing vista
Windows to the skies, that ceaseless
Were a welcome tyranny of blue
That left no room, for thought of confinement

All day long we strode then rested here
With sunburnt thighs, or there strained
With searching eager eyes that hungered
At every corner, for hidden coves

ICEBOXXFAN

an old model
the compressor sings
and wheezes
the orchestra of nite
I open its turquoise bay
some wilted veggies
and the remains of
the day
lonely man dinners
on a leftovers tray

happiness is being alive
and chosing ones poison

Inside gleams the robust
bottle its top black like a
buttons shine
swallow with expectation
and shaking hand from
Formica top take a plastic
thermos mug and pour
five shots
