Choka

as soon as Spring's in,
my heart becomes a heaven
and I got to wonder then
what She has borrowed
from the sparrow's agenda,
and what from the jasmine's.

I Am An Insomniac

some people imagine their life
at tweny-four to be 'normal'.
they wake up go to college,
then work. after, they go to
a frat party, then they go to sleep and prepare for the hangover

but ive never been able to sleep.
therefore ive always imagined my life
wasting away the day time with work
because I don't go to college. then, as
it turns midnight, I go to a party, have fun,
meet someone, we talk, fall in love, drink... ALOT
, then we end up hating eachother because someone went to far.

ECLIPSE OF THE SELF

I am contended with myself and my truth
It is the judge and jury of my passing
With whom I discuss all matters
I tell my seemingly endless story
With my constant digressions
But my truth has heard it all
And answers my questions before I ask

No matter what my mood
My truth is sympathetic to my cause
Perpetually in rehearsals of listening
My truth knows how to coach
And swears in this world of dog eat dog
I win deservedly and lose by being cheated
By the referees and blind umpires

Im Blind-Sided By You

I'm blind because
I don't see your new hat,
I see how you touch it every time your nervous.

I'm blind because
I don't see your new ripped jeans,
I see how you rest your elbows on your knees every time you talk to me.

I'm blind because
I don't see your new hair cut,
I see the aftermath hairs left on your neck.

I'm blind because
I don't see how you lay down,
I see how your body folds into perfection as you rest.

KOIL

wooden light
warm as oil
slakes the dry
winter spell

halfway to the mall
I catch up
and she
says

see U next weekend

same room
same time
spring is
wonderful

Your story
is not just a version

I have seen
many young couples,
divorce.
separate,
stay away
commit suicide
yet

some take pains to make their spouse survive,
despite the costs and what doctors may say .

This world has all kinds of human beings
some are sympathetic
few empathetic

many are unmindful of what happens to others
they speak with a chilies like spice
to slice knowing or unknowingly,
someone they don't even know

A pencil a crayon and a pen

A stick of colored wax giving character to the words I write
The colors vary!
Reds and blues like the textures of life.
Because I am young
A crayon lets me draw my feeling without reprise.
Now that I am older
Words are colorless
Black, grey even white
A pencil with and eraser is the choice
To change decisions from wrong to right
Years have pass and so have friends
Their names in pen
Will always be words I write!

Our Shapeless World: spoken word poem

I was listening to a speech one day when I heard the man speaking say "if you think that no one understands..." Then all of it comes rushing back. what my parents and friends would say "someone knows what your feeling." or "your feelings aren't valid." that is until I listen to the end of his sentence saying "if you think that no one understands, that's okay." at that moment I felt real, sane, normal, I felt okay. then I noticed that we all just want to be okay because sometimes okay is enough.

Time Will Tell

Time Will Tell

One looks at a painting then shrugs and walks away
some will peer into it's vast extreme
Still another person may stare for a long time
captivated by it's imagery & design

colors, choices & voices
We can then make formations out of the sky
perhaps it's in the memory of time gone by
As the sun heats up time will tell when the water will boil

Butterfly

Stop your butterfly kisses
and butterfly eyes,
your butterfly tragedies
and butterfly lies.

I never pulled the wings off a butterfly,
or glued them to a caterpillar,
no.

And for all my imperfections I
am in no place to hear a lecture.
And on days like today
have no more use in giving them.
Because it's not you that needs the lesson,
and it's not you who wants to learn.
