if you forget me by Pablo Neruda Nobel Laurette Stans imagery

if you forget me by Pablo Neruda Nobel Laurette

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Instant Love...

Shall I tell you all about myself
Shall I tell you who I am?
You've read the form that I filled out
Seen my face on computer cam

My likes and dislikes, my taste in clothes
What I like to eat for lunch
Do you think that we should ever meet?
I'm liking you a bunch!

Tell me all about yourself
Don't leave out a thing
I want to know what there is to know
Do you play guitar or sing?

What if Transparency ?

we make love we give love
yet sadness almost always fills our hearts
there is a great void that block that imagination
a peer of a sullen mast explosion

still we are not mere robots in our circle of friends
socialites with chatter boxes for voices
we run circles around the exterior base
paint pictures in the sky of an alabaster box in disguise

i wanted so much to tell you

as i swam into deeper feet of reclusiveness
all you noticed was my passive belligerence
you didn't take a minute to ponder on how the happy child turned out
you were possessed with the monkey--thoughts sprinting--
never on the little girl has it should have been
i've wanted so much to tell you
tell you your child was robbed
robbed of the ability to make choices
left alone in the dark to count losses.

INFANT SORROW ( imagery shop final assignment)

Infant Sorrow by William Blake

My mother groaned, my father wept:
Into the dangerous world I leapt,
Helpless, naked, piping loud,
Like a fiend hid in a cloud.

Struggling in my father's hands,
Striving against my swaddling-band
Bound and weary, I thought best
To sulk upon my mother's breast.

stripped version :

Mother groaned, father wept
into the world I lept

Struggling in hands
striving
I thought best
to sulk

BURSTS OF RAPTURE

How pitiful and petty our small sad lives!
The best we can do is add a new name
To our histories, and nothing will change;
Just a word, a buddha with a thousand wives,
Some guy doing a dervish in the desert,
Some fiddler who resembles today’s emperor;
But for all the billions of the common us
Passing through millennia with our daily chores,
Like a type of penguin, but now with a cell phone-
Really, what is to be said that is not yet known?

Orange Sky

Orange sky,
That wicked red that burns against all life,
Scorching that soul in our eyes,
And driving all men mad,
All sane notions cast into the sea,
Happiness left to fizzle,
And fade,
Into that haze,

Orange sky,
That leaves me wanting your embrace,
Leaves me to cry,
Pray,
Rage,
And Drown in my faith,

That orange sky,
Which wraps around the mountains,
Teaches all that life forgot,
Tortures me with all its might,
And leaves me all alone in July,

Barn Boys

We were sitting on a fence
me and my buddy
just hanging out
he said he wanted to be a farmer
I laughed, kind of a snortle
he was the laziest guy I ever met

it must have pissed him off, my laughing
he stopped hanging out

last I heard, he became a cop

Suddenly

*SUDDENLY*

The firmament clear & bright
The flowers captivate man sight
The song birds sing gave strength & might
To walk along side
The Queen of the coast side
Giving a pleasant feeling inside
& a gloomy joy on the outside.

Suddenly.
Suddenly.

The nature changed form
Cloudy storm
Stormy wind
Windy day

In the middle of the ocean
Did I find me, Searching for a clear end
But all I see is a dead end.

The Welder's Son

The welder’s son.

The Welder's Son.

A thunderstorm that ringed a city,
All night long it seemed to rage,
Although without delight or pity
They let the plane engage
Dark slick tarmac, and take flight,
The glow lamps of the runway lights,
Quickened and fused with jet black rage,
Of engine roar in fusion with the sound
Of human chatter, the old world alighting
From the diminished, final, lost ground.
