Anapaest (meter workshop)

Twas the day of the wedding, all dressed there at five,
with excitement she waited for him to arrive,
when a note from the scoundrel arrived via post
and the message enclosed turned her white as a ghost,
said 'I can't come today after all we've been through,
for my wife, she objects to my marrying you.'

Suggest a title.

Yesterday is gone, today is here
The future remains the offspring of today.
For as the day melts into night and night to day
Our hope for the celestial abode persevere.

Deathly Afraid... Wes' Workshop / Meter

If I seem scared, don't want just yet to die
It's true, you know it's true, I am like you
But you, I fear, the same as I to die
I know it's true, you know it's true, you do

Iambic and Trochee (meter, the workshop)

.
Iambic

I've lost desire to write of joy or fear,
and lately found all others' ideas drear.
Perhaps this shop will help me find some bliss
and somehow write less boring stuff than this.

~~~~~
Trochee
I am
Just a piece of driftwood floating
through the seas - erosive, tranquil,
practicing the art of noting,
savouring each gifted sample.
Winter's gone and soon shall Spring.
Summer's close, on doors upcoming.
Wonder what its wings to bring but
awful pests and cheeks with stings.
