Do I Dare?
Do I Dare?
All that would require
Is an unbending desire
To walk out of that bloody door.
But where would you go?
Fear and doubt in a conspiracy,
Whispering abort plans and mutiny,
My dreams now dashed below.
Don’t listen to them!
Hope surging past both,
Go couch surfing at a mates,
Find a-few flats at good rate,
Be gone before I deflate!
Once again I soar past my prison cell,
Read the rest of the poem Show less
The happiness tangible and real,
The unbending desire resolute,
I put forward my first foot.
But where would you find the money?
Fear and doubt dripping poisoned honey,
Once again my eyes undergo vertigo,
My dreams again dashed below.
Don’t listen to them!
Hope once again shouts with fervour,
Go find work part-time, it’s easy,
This way you can still go to uni,
Go now before I deflate!
Once again I soar past my prison cell,
The freedom tangible and real,
The unbending desire resolute,
I raise my second foot-
Reality kicks in.
Hope a siren’s call for sailors lost at sea.
Shouting when it should whisper,
To a fledgling who unlearned
His ability to fly.

About Me
18, moved to England when I was 6 from Nepal. Studying A-level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English literature. Screwed up a year due to laziness, so I retook a year, hopefully I have one more year of college left.
A lot of insecurities describes me as a person, always trying to do something new. Recently I have made a lot of personal/emotional break-throughs, partly due to poetry but mostly due to the change in stance in terms of how I cope with my long term problems. Due to this new outlook, I come off a bit intense at the moment, don't let that scare you. :P
Interests -
Fantasy novels (A Song of Ice & Fire being my favourite but I have read A LOT in this genre)
movies (Broad range here, I can enjoy pretty much anything if it's good, though I seem to have had a thing for Korean movies for a while and I disdain 99% of Hollywood movies if it's not watched with mates, good movies: American Beauty, Secret in their eyes, the prophet, one flew over a cuckoos nest, a clockwork orange)
manga (huge addiction, I've read countless)
anime (not so much now)
getting drunk with mates (kinda says it on the tin. Here's a throwaway fact, I peaked early in terms of drinking, when I was 14 I got electrocuted on the rail way because I mistook my limits. I can't even tell you what happened but my friend pulled me off and bunch of lucky coincidences means I am typing here, the only thing that irks me is that I have no recollection, it's almost as if it never happened. Well safe to say drinking wasn't that fun for a couple of years.)
- Lack of experience -
At the moment:
T.S. Eliot is the one identify the most with.
Need to read:
Walt Whitman
Butkowski - (read a few)
