I know that if you could
You would travel in time
Perhaps do it differently
Raise me differently
Soften the harsh tone
Or limit the words that struck
But I would not let you
I would tell you it made me who I am
That I know the struggles you have endured
And through my studies I've learnt of reflection
I understand a life not easy
Will not be a foundation for perfection
The only thing I ask, is why?
If your childhood painted terrors
Then why did mine have to be a second edition
