Nothing Like Me
Nothing like me
He’s as stubborn as a mule and as sly as a fox,
As graceful as an eagle and as strong as an ox.
He’s as deaf as a haddock and as blind as a bat,
He’s a contradiction, can you imagine that?
He’s as old as dirt but he’s young at heart,
Kinda dumb and kinda smart.
He’s mostly polite but he can be rude,
It’s all dependant upon his mood.
He’s patient and kind or nasty and mean,
But that’s up to you, if you know what I mean.
He smiles when he’s angry and his eyes get dark,
It would be best if you didn’t ignite the spark .
He’s been high on life and he’s been pretty low,
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Once he was fast but he’s getting slow.
He’ll go for a walk just to clear his head,
Sometimes he’ll regret the things that he’s said.
He’s sometimes right but he’s often wrong,
He can write a poem but he can’t sing a song.
If you know this fella’ I think you’ll agree,
He is pretty unique but he’s nothing like me.

"I love the sing song quality to this; it rolls right along. The title is good, and the logic follows from the beginning, right through to the end. I like the thoughts of the subject as he goes to bed. It would seem that…" -

About Me
About the author
I started writing poetry as a young teenager with a vivid imagination. They weren’t very sophisticated but they were a bit funny. Many of those early poems have disappeared over the years but I began cataloging the more recent ones. I’ve also written some scripts for our local theatre group and a couple of short stories. I’ve even tried my hand at songwriting but unfortunately I’m no musician. Every poem you’ll find here was inspired by something. It may have been an observation, a news story, a song or a personal experience. I hope you enjoy reading them…Stevo
