Missing You
You make me miss things.
The hours of sleep that I’ve missed wondering where I had gone wrong.
Questioning what part of me I had lost
To make me forget how to feel something
so strongly
So happily
So deeply
That I want to relive it again.
Was it with him? Or with her? Or with nobody but myself?
Was I the person tearing myself down, hoping someone would have the
strength to build me back up again?
Or was I just a product of the many things that I never want to miss?
My brain locked away my memories to keep the bad ones at bay,
Even when I begged it to allow the good ones to stay.
Read the rest of the poem Show less
And now I remember nothing,
Even how it feels to miss something.
I never thought I would meet someone that gave my brain so many
positive thoughts that it finally allowed me to feel again.
I am happy with my time spent with everyone else except for you.
I go home and I wish that I could extend our moments forever.
You have given me the gift of sadness.
I thought there was something wrong with me when I was no longer able
to feel upset about a lack of time, but I realized I was spending my
time with the wrong people.
It hurts me when I leave your presence, but it makes me glad to know
that feeling is still there.

About Me
I grew up Illinois, however I recently moved to Indiana. My boyfriend inspires me to write poetry so that I can try to explain to him in words that I love him, and so that he understands my feelings better. I want to be able to expand my vocabulary so that I can use the terminology that goes directly with how I feel.
