Where is the Light?
In light of the world we say shines so bright
Why is it now so dark?
It’s hard to even see the shadows.
Hate consuming all that it touches
Almost completely destroying any trace of love.
There are tears in the eyes of our children and despair breeding in the hearts of men.
Yet, we claim to live in light.
Where has the light gone?
Why has it faded to nearly gray hues of shadow so dark I can’t even see in front of me?
Has the heart of men become so dark that we willingly destroy the light?
Yes, our hearts have become dark due to pain, heartache, famine, and loss.
But yet there is hope in the faith that all will be right again,
If only man would look past what we see in order to regain the light.

"Nice piece. I do not pretend to understand the form tho. I've read a bunch of it, however I've no clear vision of the style. Welcome to our website!" -

"welcome to Neopoet, it is very nice to meet you. I think Onyinechi is right about about the structure of your piece. you need punctuation which would help with the timing, you need to have pauses, not a blurting out. as…" - June 2022

"At times a poem's form complements the poem's rhythm through caesuras or sentence / line breaks of various length. I would prefer this piece to be like this: As love is love once was beautiful and pure like the purest o…" -

As Love Is
"As love is love once was beautiful and pure like the purest of springs in the valley untouched by man. As love is love once was pure of passion, desire and fire hotter than the most active volcano deep within the earth. As love is love once was trusting as a newborn babe being held for the first time in her mother‘s arms. As love is love once was as enduring as a simple forehead kiss and to be held tight without other intentions. As love is love once was the look of pure innocence in your eyes as we held each other close enough to inhale each others breath only wanting that moment to last because love is almost as as fleeting as a dream that we tried to remember in the morn. As love is love once was you and me passion, desire, friendship and honesty long before others turned our heads and whispered in our ears that our love was not enough! Untia B. " -

Into the Eyes I Love
"When I look into the eyes I love I see hopes and dreams fulfilled, I see majesty and grace with flickers of sunshine that brighten my day. When I look into the eyes I love I see perfection in their flaws beauty in their light and strength in their wisdom. When I look into the eyes I love I see patience and fight a will stronger than the literal force of light for in those eyes are sometimes pain, anguish and disappointment but yet they shine bright, around their edges are lines from happiness and joy for in those eyes you can actually read a story for the depth of the soul they are connected to is pure and bright. It shines like an eternal light so when I look into the eyes I love I smile for the person they are connected to is me and that’s no lie for the eyes that I love God gave them to no other but me!" -
