What was spent
In the forest,
he thought he found a bush.
Head bowed. Still. Waiting.
A white rose held in its hands
like a heart that never learned to speak.
He reached.
And the world remembered pain.
A thorn—
a drop of blood—
and she woke.
Not as something new…
but as something seen.
He did not mean to harm her.
But he did not know the difference
Read the rest of the poem Show less
between beauty
and possession.
So she stayed.
And they danced.
Until he learned the pattern of her light:
stay… take… leave… return.
Each time he left,
she gave him a rose.
Each morning,
it died in his hands.
Until she had less of herself to give
and still called it love.
And when the last rose came—
the one closest to her heart—
she hesitated.
But still gave it.
And it died like the others.
So he came back.
And there was nothing left
but thorns.
And for the first time,
he understood what had been spent.
His tears fell like gentle rain.
And where they touched the thorned ground—
a single bud stirred.
Not forgiveness.
Not undoing.
Just a quiet return of possibility.
He did not reach for it again.
Instead, he stood a long while in silence.
Then he left.
And as the wind carried him away,
he spoke—not as a lesson,
but as something learned too late to undo:
When you walk through a garden,
do not take what is most beautiful
because it is most beautiful.
Let it remain.
Let it grow.
Let it become more than the moment you can hold.
So it can outlive your hands.
He did not return.
She did not see him again.
That was the last time the forest knew him.
But it was not the end of her.

About Me
I write to understand people.
My work lives somewhere between poetry and philosophy, where stories become mirrors and symbols become conversations. I am drawn to the quiet moments that shape us—the ones we often carry without words. Through forests, gardens, oceans, seasons, and the ordinary rhythms of everyday life, I explore what it means to be seen, to belong, to heal, and to grow.
I don't believe writing has to provide answers. I believe it should ask honest questions, invite reflection, and leave space for readers to discover something of themselves within the page.
If my work lingers with you after you've finished reading—if it helps you feel understood, inspires you to look at someone differently, or quietly reminds you that growth is still possible—then it has done exactly what I hoped it would.
Love always,
