Innocence and all I ever wanted
In the dawn of incandescence.
We are lights to fill the world.
Complex tapestries of our destiny.
Placed before us and unfurled.
Radiating with the glow of innocence.
By our past we are slowly haunted.
Where once was effervescent.
Is now left only daunted.
You've always been my inspiration, you're all I ever wanted.
You've always been my inspiration, you're all I ever wanted.
In this city of perpetual rain.
Where nothing seems real to us anymore.

We laugh at the realization.
Nothing had ever been real before.
Running in syncopated circles.
If we were to feel so obliged.
Trying so desperately to recapture.
How it felt to be alive.
You've always been my inspiration, you're all I ever wanted.
You've always been my inspiration, you're all I ever wanted.
Set on a course of self-destruction.
Where not even innocence revives.
The radiance has all but faded out.
Now in the twilight of our lives.
But there was a fleeting moment.
We knew all we ever wanted, and why.
We knew exactly who we wanted to be.
But the moment has passed now, so say goodbye.
