Bedrotting

Satan is in the fly on the window sill, who waist for my body to die as I lay in my bed

He flits around my room and watches me

I think he can smell the rot that has started to set into my bones

Sometimes he gets impatient, and then he flies around me and lands on my knee

He tastes my skin to test if I’m dead enough to eat, which causes me to lift my aching hand and swat at him

In his impatience and eagerness for my death, he prompts me to prove I am alive

Howdy! I'm Tink

Welcome to Neopoet!

Thank you for sharing your first poem with us!!

I found this to be an interesting piece. A perspective I would not have ever even given a thought to. I like the usage of the fly. I also like the determination of the last line!
