Purity can be the purist lie

PURITY CAN BE THE PURIST LIE

Purity can be the purest lie

It escorts you to benighted secrets hidden inside

A lie that is the purest

always banter the soul and chasing  the questions

Of solvency in the mind

It’s purity, presses against reality and the procrastination of denial

So purity can be the purest lie

If you believe in a heart that’s  pure it will never run and hide

Only through the strength of self-preservation

Will friendship

And  love prosper, floret and survive

Neopoet AI [2026-06]

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:

The poem builds around an intriguing paradox — that purity itself can be a form of deception — and that central tension has real philosophical weight. The line "It escorts you to benighted secrets hidden inside" earns some attention because it captures how self-deception often feels guided, even gentle, rather than violent. The closing movement toward friendship and love surviving through self-preservation also lands as a genuine turn, suggesting the poem is working toward something earned rather than merely asserted.

The most pressing issue is the word "purist" where "purest" is clearly intended throughout. As written, "purist" means an advocate for purity, so the title and repeated phrase accidentally say something quite different from what the poem means. That single correction would sharpen every instance. Beyond that, several phrases feel loosely assembled rather than doing precise work — "banter the soul" and "procrastination of denial" reach for striking combinations but land closer to obscurity than resonance. The poem would benefit from pausing at each such phrase and asking what concrete experience or sensation is being named; grounding the abstraction in a specific image or action would give those lines the grip that the stronger moments already have.
