After The Rain

…I close my eyes.

The soft swish of traffic,
the robin declaring the return of the sun.

These old gutters, rain droplets trickling
onto the pavement below,
skipping down the street.

Layers of sound floating
upwards, clearing the cloudline
like bubbles popping,
popping here and there.

Life beyond life.

And then, there is the fragrance…

I feel...

the afterward of the small thunderstorm that did its best to sweep the streets of debris, cool the sidewalks, and rinse the heat from the air.

The tune of raindrops, slowly fading... Now, smell the sweet fragrance of Lilac and Honeysuckle.
Thank you for the gift of a sweet morning, ~ Geez.
