Confusion
I romanticize the experience
I dawn the rise of melting snow.
The higher I rise, the slower I go.
However, I am from below.
I am not like you, beings of dawn.
You dance before the Morning Star.
I am a marionette for reasons I don't know.
I am the basin in which no thought goes.
I am the pursuer of dreams I cannot remember.
I believe exactly what I cannot picture.
You are my dream, in a daze, my haze.
I worship the imagination.
On your whisper I graze.
What would you sound like?
What do you desire?
There is nothing left.
I have nothing, set asunder.
What kind of day makes you shine like the morning?
What pursues you, that you chase the stars of night?
Who am I, that everyone knows your dreams, even if they do not want to?
Except Me?
You know all my dreaming, my scheming, to know a love for longing.
You know the laughter I never hold.
I do not know what I pursue.
Yet I do not know myself.
If you turned me away because I am too open,
Then I will leave you alone because that is what you desire.
I asked you, and I was given no answer,
except that no one told me, and mislead me, and isolated me without anything.
From the Time of my childhood, until now.
If I am my only companion, and I do not know myself-
I cannot call myself alone.
Only Dreaming.
I am the guardian of lost dreams.
I am the Bearer. the Taker. the Wrong-Maker.
I am the one who falls in love with everyone.
I am the love that no one wanted.
Yet everyone desired.
Except You.

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:
The poem reaches for something real and emotionally complex — the experience of feeling fundamentally unknown, of loving without being received — and a few lines land with genuine force. "I am the pursuer of dreams I cannot remember" and "I am the love that no one wanted / Yet everyone desired" carry an honest, paradoxical weight that earns their place. The closing "Except You" mirrors the earlier "Except Me" in a way that gives the whole piece a loose structural symmetry worth developing further.
The main challenge is that the poem leans heavily on abstract declaration — "I am," "I do not know," "I believe" — without grounding those states in concrete image or scene. The opening line, "I romanticize the experience," is a statement about the poem's method rather than the method itself, and phrases like "set asunder" and "a daze, my haze" feel inherited rather than earned. The line "I dawn the rise of melting snow" appears to confuse "don" with "dawn," and if that is intentional it needs more context to read as meaningful rather than mistaken. A productive revision might select one or two of the poem's strongest abstract claims and ask what specific moment, object, or sensation gave rise to them — anchoring the feeling in something seen or heard would give readers a way in, and would let the poem's genuine emotional intelligence show through rather than stay at arm's length.

Confusion
Hello, Marina!
Such a reflective piece, I can almost hear your voice. This is the wonderful type of poetry that gets even better with time - I can imagine, when you return to this piece, that you feel more deeply, stronger, and have an even greater sense of meaning with each visit to it.
I agree with AI's assessment that it feels a bit "at arm's length" simply because, for me, it seems "almost there." I get the sense that you have more to say.
I'll return!
Thank you so much!
