Lucifer's Prayer (a poem):

First I am before Thee
Then I am behind Thee
I am within Thee
I am without
All I ask is to stand
At Thy side
To wallow in Thy glory
I have clipped my wings
For love of Thee
I have hidden my greater
Mystery
I have become a man
That you might remember
That once you loved me
I am called base
Yet I have followed
Your instruction to the letter
Now the time draws near
I lay down my sword
I pass on the Gate key
I go where many travellers
Have passed
To view how man has risen
Since our first conflict
I seek neither to ensnare
Nor mislead any man from
His true path
I lay down my armour
Now I am merely a soul
A soul who awaits Thee
