I looked the word “fuck” up… not because I didn’t know what it meant, but
because, I think a lot of people really don’t get the connotations and
derogatory meaning most people feel about the word. It is not a nice
word. It is mainly used to degrade or upset someone. Not to comfort.
It’s carnal, lustful…
I have thought about a poem that was written and posted and raved about. The
more I thought about it, the more sick my heart became. Not that the writer is not
a talented writer, but, because of the content. I really try to respect others views. In
this instance I wanted to explain why I was so offended.
I know many of you do not believe in Jesus. That is your choice and I can accept
that many may see him as a man made entity. Can’t you respect my feelings and
others who do believe in Jesus? We see Jesus as a Father figure and all of us are
his children. We believe his love is unconditional, as a parent for a child. Not a lover
or in a carnal way. So when you write of a sexual encounter with him, it feels incestuous
and debasing him to me.
It is not my intention to upset anyone and have not meant to rave. Just to explain.
I want to write. I read for inspiration. I read for entertainment. I do not however, enjoy
reading how wonderful a piece is that has degraded and mocked something I cherish
and believe in. Civility to one another goes a long way. I have felt compelled to write
something, not to criticize or cause debate. Hopefully to bring a little enlightenment on
a very touchy subject.
Always sincere,
Tonya
