Crying Angels

The angels stood at attentionWaiting for the callTo free God's only begotten SonWho would die for one and all Imagine how they watched the LordWho knew them all by nameAs He offered both His hands to themWho would cause Him so much pain All of Heaven went silentAs they nailed Him to the treeI wonder how the angels felt As they watched His Agony Jesus could have called themTen thousand angels strongBut He knew He had to finishWhat He'd waited for so long And when He said it's finishedHe gave up the Ghost and diedIt must have looked like rain that dayAs ten thousand angels cried
