I still am, Dear Jess

I still am, Dear Jess

Arrogant and horribly shallow

My poetry hasn’t improved a wee bit

Not so much as one can really see

And I do,

Still, but rarely listen to anyone

As egoistic I still am,

A horrible man or woman.

Listening to feedback of course

I shall still be.

I don’t know

Who was very unkind to me initially?

And

I still give credit to those who do still read me.

You are entitled to your due share

Of my poetic infatuation

As much as anyone else needs me

My growth if any,

Is because friends like you,

Still read me.

 I’m awe stricken

That you care to admire

How I’ve improved

Simply it’s because

I admire thee

For your outright condemnation,

And outstanding unparalleled ability

To call a black spade

A blackest one

As and when one doth see ye

But still your admiration

Has to be held in high esteem

By all those who listen to you,

Including yours truly…

We all are for ever learning

That’s known as the learning curve,

‘’Improve or bury one self

In mother earth’’

Is a dictum I learnt from many poets

Like goodness gracious thee.

I believe I need to bow

In front of many Neopoets,

Who have greater kindness?

Than I really do know,

Perhaps as much kindness

Jess as have thee…
Cheers to you

My friendliest friend of all…
