Suggestion/question/feedback (no rant here)
Hello to all
Just wanted to ask the Neo family if they ever thought to categorize the poetry here. For some examples:
Inspirational
Humorous
Dark
Light
Religion
Sex
Animals
Nature
Death
Love
Hate
etc etc... The reason I ask of this is (and don't throw me to the wind just yet on my idea) if a person wants to read of certain subjects/areas of their interest and learn more of their style of writing they could submit and read from that area. This is NOT to say to ignore any other poet's writings but merely to incorporate one's learning skill on their certain subject/areas they may tend to write of and want to learn more of. It is just a suggest.. This is not intended for argument sake..
This is just my own thinking as I know this is an open workshop for everyone. Somehow it seems like if a person reads a piece someone else has written and does not agree with it then it goes off on a tiresome debate/hashing period of some sort and never does it focus on the workshop mentality of the author or does it influence other readers.
For as long as I have been here I notice this trend. As I know this is a workshop and should be treated as such I think as members we all need to work more together at understanding the writer. I am in favor of reading alot of varied subjects, I may not comment on everyone's poem and that does not make it bad either. For how does one learn from only one or two individual writers. Varied is the word I use here as there are varied writings in all poets, journalists, etc..
This blog is not to stir up anyone's feathers or incite a riot. Please we, have enough going on in the world today to worry about tit for tat and all of that. This is an honest, open question and everyones feedback on it, as not all will agree to it but please express what your feelings about it. I am also not here to change the website but make suggestions, that's all, Afterall isn't that what a workshop is for. Not only in here, even on your job, even in your home, it is TEAM to work together, to help one another, to grow as a writer and also as a reader.
Again I just wanted to share with all of you an idea, and it is only tha,t AN IDEA. I like to hear what others think too. Yikes do I really..please do not misconstrue this as a tiresome rant... It is not of that...
