I HAVE LEARNT

I've learnt to caress your face,

to say grace with you,

to feel your pain,

to sense your concern,

to hear your message plain,

all there within your poetry as it flows out,

to understand this mystery called life,

faced with the agony of pains so great

that we would bend like trees 

in constant storms

and break.

No hand, no sword defends you,

alone you stand, 

and few would tolerate such fate,

our admiration grows

each time you write, 

who knows if we can make your troubles 

dissipate in strength,

as we relate our feelings,

so strongly sympathetic,

and send our love, 

the only weapon we have,

to quell sad moments,

and so relieve your thoughts,

before it is too late.
