Considerations for the AEC

In light of past and recent events, and in full consideration that any community only evolves
as their guidelines permit I offer the following for consideration to the current AEC:

There are many good folks on Neopoet.  I'd say all folks on Neo are *good*.   There is, however,
a difference between a true troll-like being who has no sense of community, compassion or
self-moderation.  The guidelines should be and need to be effective to recognize and deal with
such folks for the sake of the community.  (Even though I abhor *banishment* as a threat or a weapon.)

Sometimes we act like unruly children and time-out is a good idea.

But let's consider the following:

Is the nature of poetry on this site sacrosanct?  The poet?  Are the reactions garnered as they filter
through the minds and hearts of the reader?

In my opinion, it would be a huge shift of awareness to promote poetry first and foremost.  Anyone
who objects to a poem on a poet's own page should no longer be *protected* by any community
guidelines.  What is good for the goose....

If my poem offends you and your sensibilities/sensitivities, so be it.  Individual poets do that in the
course of their interactions within the thinking process of the masses since the first poem ever
written.   Period.  But once you have called my poem vile, disgusting, etc., should you be safe from me
calling you an asshole idiot, or anything else that comes into my mind in the moment.... on my own page
on my own poem.

Then we move into intent.  How DO we judge INTENT?

Maybe we should engage on a course of action/reaction that involves civility AND discrimination.
How to effectively voice one's opinion without denigrating another's work.

Peace.
