fallen
free flight
over the handlebars
then touchdown
hearing the sickening crunching
as I land on my shoulder on the
curb
bike skidded to a halt
people coming forward
to help
hands outstretched
did I hit my head
No i kept syin
g
one said i did
sunglasses still on my head
somehow
bone jangled and definately
something messed up
same shoulder broken
twenty three years earlier
my haughtiness and horse
headed ego made me
an idiot
when all were helpful
owe them an apologee
apogee of lalnding
I could have
landed on my head
and saved them my
righteous attitude
instead this broken
shoulder may find
my humility yet
got meds
got bike at night
sprayed some cologne
on
read titles of books
sat and wrote in
my notebook
came home
