Russia and America signed a nuclear arms pact
to trim their strategic nuclear arsenal,
as if there could be a second strike after the first;
there is a 700 page report on child sex abuse
by Catholic priests in Ireland, the Vatican is 'fessing up, the Pope
issues a papal edict: *Sorry*;
Is human nature an act of God?
Does the right hand know what the left is saying?
I can't find a voice that hasn't already cried.
I can't write another poem with this silence, abiding.
It is raining and the cherry blossoms have already had their day.
