A Charmed Life

I lead a charmed life.  I know this is true and do not pretend anything else.

It's not that I have not endured hardship, it's that hardship has never forced me into self-destructive behaviour.

It's not that I had an easy childhood, it's that I've been able to take the best from it and build.

It's not that I've been uniformly successful in my career, it's that I have learned from my errors and flaws and become stronger.

It's not that I am the epitome of physical perfection, it's that my issues are manageable and I always find a way to do the things I love.

It's not that all my relationships have been perfect, it's that I do not hate anyone.

It's not that my children have always thought well of me, it's that my children love and respect me as they reach adulthood.

It's not that I have never done wrong, it's that I try never to do the same wrong twice.

It's not that my parents were perfect, it that my parents tried their best and I recognized this in time to shower them with well deserved praise.

It's not that I have all the answers, it's that I have some answers that work for me most of the time.

It's not that I am an optimist, it's that when the world give me lemons, I sell them and get something I actually like.

It's not that I believe God is watching over me, it's that I believe I have the universe at my fingertips and the rest is up to me.

It's not that I was given a charmed life, it's that I have made it charmed.
