Dragons are mighty and dangerous creatures. They can breathe fire, bite, club you with their tail or crush you in their claws.
My pen name is no accident. I have never dreamed of being a fairy or a princess, and neither have I dreamed of flying horses or unicorns. The dragon is my guardian, my totem. I have always felt drawn to these mythological beasts. Maybe it's because I have a lot of things in common with them:
I am not your average nice little girl. I am not afraid of speaking my mind, and sometimes my tongue is quicker than my brain. I am also not afraid of hearing the truth.
From my poem "No fairytale":
Give me a relentless mirrorone that does not answer Thouwhen I ask who is the most beautiful For I am not Aliceneither Sleeping Beautynor Cinderellanot even Snow WhiteNo fairytale princess
I am a dragon. I am never careful when I play with fire. I am much too busy admiring the patterns the flames paint, and the musical roar of a burning pyre.
From my poem "Screw the reader (Burn)":
am a pyromaniacplaying with fire (...)
I am a suicide bombera human torchwords smoulder in my crevices I do not ask for pedestalsor for worshippersnor for accoladesnot even for followers
So, your basic dragon psychologist would advise you:
- do not built pedestals for a dragon
- do not worship a dragon
- speak only the truth when you are talking to a dragon
- do not try to be subtle or vague when approaching a dragon, dragons do not do subtle or vague
- never wake a sleeping dragon
- expect the dragon to breathe fire from time to time - it can't help it, it's in its nature and happens as involuntarily as a hiccup
- neverever try to appeal to the dragon's civility and common sense - basic dragon civility and common sense differ too much from the human concept
- above all, never try to threaten or blackmail a dragon - the consequences will be your responsibility
By the way, I was also born in the year of the dragon. Here's wikipedia's list of character traits for a dragon:
Dragon - 龍 (Yang, 1st Trine, Fixed Element Wood): Magnanimous, stately, vigorous, strong, self-assured, proud, noble, direct, dignified, jealous, eccentric, intellectual, fiery, passionate, decisive, pioneering, artistic, generous, loyal. Can be tactless, arrogant, imperious, tyrannical, demanding, intolerant, dogmatic, violent, impetuous, brash.
You have been warned!
