Uninvited Guest

 Nightly she welcomes

Her uninvited visitor
Keeping her conscious
Through hours of darkness

They speak through silence
Sharing murderous memories
That weakens the strongest warrior

She tells him of the ones that
Tore away her smile

One taste of his lips
Turns into two and three
Alone she absorbs
The savory flavor

He doesn’t judge her
As she keeps on needing
His comforting presence

Willingly he waits
For her to hold him
As she falls victim
To his seduction

Waiting for her nightly
Hovering from above
Filling her empty glass
Slowly letting the pain fade

Before sunrise he
Resides within
Her aching soul

Awaiting to
Be consumed
Sip by sip
