The League of American Poets, as compilists.

I do confess, I had hoped for the best.
We all openly embraced this beast,
and it took it's toll on this earth, just by surviving birth.

Just about as subtle as a bubble,
yet as gentle as, a breeze can caress
and vioently the wind can undress, the trees;

It's done as it's pleased.
It's raped, and pillaged...in many a villiage.
It has claimed by death, and to others it has shared a whisper of breath.

Things that take you by storm, can keep you...warm;
and I find solace in it's demise.
Yes, it's almost over, just look over your shoulder...

soon, it'll strike twelve...and we will delve, into another realm.
We'll have to wait, and see.....what is to be.
But, as for this ogre, his life is over.......finally, it's time ! This poem focused on the New Year, where there takes place, a sort of, "changing of the guard", if you will.
