Sympathy of the puppet dogs

''You blew me away''

  ''yes i blew you away
just the ghost of a whisper
   an echo in my ears
   torn down dogs''

''stripped to our bones''

   ''sand grains hold your blood''

''sand grains take of mine, whats spilled
in our innocence of the death spoils
If then we knew what now we still do not ''

    ''i blew you away''

''yes you blew me away
in a rage made from England and the U.S of A
manufactured in reprogramming camps
stripped down to our bones
torn down dogs
no little weapons of war''

''can you hear the oil in our ears
    the contracts of rebuild
can you smell the paper in our pockets
that's burns a big scar on their souls''

''all the mental institutions
that house dog tag numbers
from the desert
where the glass store our blood
in its grains blown
to the dust that is baked a stain
by a sun that sears hot.
Do you smile to know
that its not you that is haunted?
do you breath easy at night
to know its you that's not taunted
with our bullet infused crys
and the stark naked fear in our eyes?
they blew us away
us puppet dogs blew you away''

What does your friend do in the army? I visited turkey last year on anzac day and we went to gillipaly, (spelt wrong) we went on the oz day and it was amazing to see so many young people there that celebrate it and remember it for their soldiers lost all those years ago. There were lots of fit guys there too ; p Optimism in adversity nutures positive outcomes

I like the anger energy and

I like the anger energy and your powerful use of metaphor in this one Vixs.It might be a little more potent if you prune a little off the periferal points.

Hey Barry,Thanks for

Hey Barry, Thanks for dropping by, suggestions on bits to prune? I was angry after i watched a documentry on how the army target poor people to fight, and then one about how they rile up troops to go out to the desert then when the troops get there, there is often nothing for them to do, pent up with energy to ''protect their countries that anger often gets misdirected at themselves and civilians. I thought jar head dipicted this well for a hoolywood movie. I think in the poem i have directed it at usa and england as im pissed at the iraq war for ''oil'' but i know tha every country targets por people for its privates. vix Optimism in adversity nutures positive outcomes

Great description...

It's auful that our soldiers have to die trying to sort out other peoples problems and they're very brave to be willing to do this. I like your feelings in this poem. Rosina xena465

Hey rosina,How many people

Hey rosina, How many people went on marches to protest against the iraq war?? thousands and he govenments didn't listen, so much for a democracy. So many soldiers dont want to be in iraq and come back full of anger at the farce of a reason for it. the ones that go full of pride for their country ready to protect their people are so often misled and it must be disheartening and demoralisings for them to be away from loved ones. Its not the soldiers i have a problem with its the establishments that use and manipulate them. anyway, enough soap box ranting, Thankyou for the feedback on this piece vixy ; ) Optimism in adversity nutures positive outcomes
