clash of idle chatter
My Wish, if only.
I wish I wish, what do I wish. Do I want to win the lottery, of course I do. Would I be happy probably, would I be satisfied with myself as a person. Answer no, no and three times no. Maybe it is that as a father and grandfather, I feel I should have done more with my life. I don’t mean wealth wise, though of course like most people a little more would not go wrong. There is the perfect example of what I mean, when even thinking about it the working person only asks for a little more. We don’t go around preoccupied with notions of owning yachts, mansions, private jets, though if offered, well would we have them. No I would guess that most working people, would just like to have a life without worrying about paying their bills. Because I would take a bet that most of the working people, have had to do some very fine accountancy work to make ends meet sometimes. I read an article in a newspaper, lauding about a book, where the author obviously not off working people. That’s of the book not the article, because I would not call the person who wrote the article, a writer never mind an author. Being that my idea of an author come writer is, unless your life is part of a story, or the book is factual. Or even a fictional story based around your life. You try to write without your own ill-conceived prejudice tainting your story. Well if I told you that this book told how the working person really enjoyed, even though they were not clever enough to realise this. And only a person who had read and understood Freud would. Yes really enjoyed getting up at the crack of dawn, doffing his cap to every person who assumed they were his better. And toiling until the last piece of sunlight went, for as little money as his employer could get away with, really enjoying getting his body broken and in some cases death. O yes that’s what were here for, to toil while others enjoy the fruits of our labour, who in the name of all that’s just wrote that verse.” Fruits of our labour “ Lets explore this, who could have penned such a verse. Could it have been a sportsman, being a person who enjoyed sports. I could see why working hard at training and looking after yours self so as to get the best from sport. “ Could mean Fruits of our labour”. Could it have been a miner, well what would they be thinking of hundreds of feet below ground. Sometimes in seams no higher than the thickness of their own body. They are brave and decent people and some of them, probably could write some verse. But I don’t think the fruit was theirs. Could it have been a playwright or actor, I somehow think such people though honest in their craft, lived for applause and recognition rather than fruit. No I am tending to think, this kind of verse belongs in one or two type of book. The one being the rules of some far of dynasty, or the other which if challenged. Means that the challenger faces hellfire and exclusion from that sacred place,
PS. I don’t mean the house of lords.
