Questions and Answers
"Why do you write so many blogs?"
I am a writer. Writers write.
"Why don't you write more poetry?"
I write as much poetry as I desire to write.
"Why do you think you are so smart?"
I think I am smart because I am smart. I also think I have grey hair, blue eyes, flat feet, and issues with connective tissue.
"Why do you think you are smarter than everyone else?"
I don't.
"Why do you think you are better than everyone else?"
I don't.
"Can't you be nicer?"
Nicer than what? I'm here for the poetry workshop and I approach people with an attitude of respect as long as that attitude is reciprocated. When people do not act with an attitude of mutual respect, I respond in whatever manner I deem most effective.
"Don't you think your responses to attacks are disproportionate?
Good God, I dearly hope so. If you are attacking me my only desire is to make it as wearisome for you as possible as quickly as possible and have it be as amusing to me as possible. Some people may enjoy being attacked, I am not one of them.
"Why do you think you are so tough?"
I don't. Because I refuse to be intimidated people mistake that for being tough.
"Why are you so judgmental?"
I am no more judgmental than any person, I am just less shy about stating my likes and dislikes.
"Why do you want to tell everyone what to do and how to act?"
I don't. Because I am clear in stating my likes and dislikes some people mistake this for me demanding compliance to my desires.
"Why do you demand so much attention?"
Wow. I submit work to the poetry workshop of which I am a member, just like everybody else.
"Why are you so inflexible?"
I have come to the conclusion that this question can be translated as follows: "Why won't you adopt my position without proof that I am right?" My answer to this is that I think before I make a statement of fact and can support such a statement with unbiased evidence. It's not that I am inflexible, it is that I am not easily influenced.
"Why do you have an excuse fort everything?"
I don't have an excuse for anything. I can state why I do nearly everything I do because my personality includes thinking about consequences before taking action. An excuse is a denial of personal responsibility, an explanation is an acceptance of personal responsibility. I have an explanation for nearly everything I do.
"Why can't you admit when you are wrong?"
When I am wrong I admit fault, make reasonable amends, modify my behaviour so as to not repeat the transgression, and move on. I do not indulge in guilt once I have made reasonable amends for my errors and modified my behaviour.
"Why are you so intolerant?"
I have concluded that this question can be translated as follows: "Why won't you behave the way I want you to behave?" My attitude is, as long as I am not paying for it and it involves consenting adults, it's none of my business. I demand the same attitude be applied to me.
"Why are you so mean?"
Because you are threatened by any attitude or opinion that is not complimentary to yours, your insecurity demands a value judgment against those who do not share your outlook or approach. So it's not that I am mean, it's that you are insecure.
"Why are you posting this?"
So I can link it to my profile.
Now some people will look at my answers and state, flatly, that I am lying. I can't comment on the fabrications of others. I can only control what I say, not what people pretend I have said or what they are certain they heard.
If folks want or need clarification on a point, they need only ask. If folks decide to fabricate accusations and stances, well, it's not my issue and while I may speculate on their deficiencies I cannot address their fabrications.
