CHALLENGE TO NEOPOETS: Ekphrastic Poems
These poems deal with writing poetry based on inspiration from visuals, like paintings of pictures. This mostly done as a respondent`s interpretation to an art form.
The poet needs to be in touch with the visual. Maybe it says something to you, maybe it represents something you recognize, maybe it's simply something you find intriguing.
If you need get into touch with the visual, write notes down about how it makes you feel, what it reminds you of, etc. Then write your poem based from that. Or you can write spontaneously, based on initial impressions and maybe go back later and add in additional impressions or feelings you have of the visual.

CHALLENGE: Take EITHER:

OR
b) Find a visual, either in physical form or online, that you have never seen before and write spontaneously your initial response to it.
