Workshop
The AEC is excited to announce the concept of a new venue on Neopoet -- the "Neopoet Workshop".
Experienced leaders will be able to launch workshops on virtually any topic of their choosing. They will have full control to set the agenda and format of the workshop. For example, one leader might run a workshop where participants submit seven poems over seven weeks, each structured in a different historical style, while another might host a one day workshop to discuss beat poetry.
Because each workshop will be a structured environment, participants will be guaranteed a certain level of feedback on their work. Participants who are unable to meet their obligations will be discouraged from rejoining a workshop until they commit to giving the level of feedback requested by the workshop leader.
Poetry submitted into a workshop will also be listed on the stream, and any Neopoet member will be allow to read and comment (and if they so desire, apply to join the next session of that workshop).
We envision an exchange where aspiring workshop leaders and participants will be able to easily create, find, and enroll in workshop sessions.
While we have great ambitions for this program, we would like to start small and gather early feedback before committing to a particular structure. We'd like your help. We plan to launch a short workshop series (topic TBD) that will serve as the pilot project for this venture.
