FEELINGS, THOUGHTS, INNER PEACE, HELPING OTHERS IN NEED
Good morning to all.
After much reflection on the issue of wars and religion....peace and love.....I do think that as everyone has their opinion on this site, sometimes I am noticing even in my own self defending opinions or topics of others or our own selves. A human reality.. As I did not come here to argue back and forth, bicker unrelentlessly and go on and on with topics that are sensitive to me and others..for this I reflect on this morning.
I must draw my own line.
In reflection on the last couple of weeks where I have also chimed in my views and opinions I also see that it is non productive to do so in this forum... to a degree. .However, I feel that one has the right to agree or disagree on poems or the content inside them. We must always remember that people write poems of many things, many emotions, many feelings, many issues. That does not mean you have to go around also and call people names, bash others for their beliefs, or any kind of self righteous behavior you want to express. I do think that if someone will dispute a poem for what it is and it involves the other persons belief or stance, or the content of it we must draw our own line somewhere. This is common courtesy and respect for another's work, however slighted one feels to it.
I am referring to a poem that was dedicated to innocent people who's lives were taking away suddenly. Many... all over this entire world.
This is not only referring to a man's poem on here but anyone's poem from which they originate from. Their country, state, city whatever and wherever...in this world... Everyone has their say for such things, this is for sure since we are human beings, who have sensitive feelings toward one thing or another, one topic or another.. The whole point I am trying to make here is this. There are so many sites for this kind of interaction. This however is not the place for it...will it ever change, probably not so I am speaking my feelings here again on this topic. . I have found myself defending my own views or feelings on things here, which sometimes take away from my iniative to write. I am going to step above and beyond myself here and concentrate on helping others with their poetry and accepting the help of others towards mine. If I want to argue with anyone I can call my son's father and argue with him (at which I gave up many years ago)
I am a true believer of peace and I know some may not think so but you are not in my house now having coffee with me and we are not discussing any issues. I would be more then happy to have you here for coffee should you respect my house and my very being. That is all I ever ask for in life... Respect of each other. . I have a tremendous love for mankind, and for all mankind,, whether I agree with them or not... Where am I going with this?...Here it is... I find myself in retribution to words or sayings that I may take to heart since they are of a very sensitive area to my bery being and beliefs, just like yourself. This is a common reaction, a human reaction. to things of which we find offensive and suppressive. I do, like others on here have strong viewpoints and feelings that some may not agree with. I thank you for not backlashing me for it and I will respect you if you choose to do so but I will not charade your arguments hour after hour. It is rude and disrepectful to write things that mean alot to others as they do and to say heartless things for which one holds so close to them. This s uncalled for in my opinion.
As we can not change others, we can only change how we react to others, be it one thing or another is a choice for us to make.
. I however I will not lower my stance on anything of true value to myself or my fellow countrymen of whom I speak at home and abroad. I am not going to sugarcoat anything for that matter. I can and will agree to disagree with you and disagree to agree with you if that makes any sense to you and then leave it at that. In other forums this behavior you would be blocked or booted out. They have a site called Critical Poet and maybe that one would be best for this type of situation and no I do not belong to that either. I only belong to Neopoet and for this I will stand by them.
I admire the people here on Neopoet, and I respect them. I have met some very nice poets and mentors in here and I appreciate all they bring to this site and to my learning.. I am forever grateful. . As I contemplated leaving here in the beginning I decided NOT!!! I w illstay here since this is the place for me to be. I will not however have anyone chase me down or belittle me or make me so angry that I would leave this site. You have to be kidding me on this one. No one controls me therefore I control me. And sometimes yes I admit I have my way about me and like all of us do. For this I give no one control over my feelings or thoughts, for they are mine alone and if I wish to share them with you all in a poem. in a blog, in a story, then that is why I am here.. It is not being self righteous it is ME. I only control my feelings, not others... I will state my feelings and go forward. if you feel you must continue on an endless interaction well go ahead. I probably then will be taking as a rude person but when I have let go of something I have let go for good. Life is too precious wasting it on nonsense and the wish to tear someone down... I think twice. I go so far with things and people and then I take a breath and blow it either softly or forcibly to the winds..there is where it goes to the wind away from my body. Try that somtime and it may help you out when you get frustrated or unhappy about anything or anyone that bothers or disturbs your inner soul. This is no hatred whatsoever..just release it and blow it to the wind. As I may not be politcally correct on issues, I can only speak or write how I feel. No offense to anyone or you may not and I am okay with that. I am mature enough to accept others or not too, and leave it at that. We are not perfect people.
I am not here for a personality contest with my poems or my feelings. I see alot of this popluar stuff going on in here too. That is fine also. Maybe we can think about the person who is not so popular on here and send them a kind word or suggestion on their poems. Dont you think that may encourage them more and not make them feel slighted from this site as no one comments on their work. Try to engage yourself maybe twice a week to reach out to someone that is just starting to write and send them a kudos or whatever you think suggestions you may have that may help them. After all some of you in here have written many books, are very smart at the poetry you write. For this holiday season try to reach out to someone that does not have the knowledge of writing as good and lend them your beautiful help. This is just a decision or suggestion I am making.
Much love to you all at this holiday season and most of all keep peace in yourself and the ones around you. It only takes one person at a time to change the surroundings we live in.
