"You Think You Are So Smart!"
This is another one of those blog posts I must rewrite every six (6) months or so as people cycle in and out of our community and fail to properly research before they spout their accusations and vitriol.
Some people are convinced that I believe myself better as a person, poet, whatever, than most other members of this site. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Firstly, I am not in competition as far as poetry goes with anyone so assertions that I believe myself a better poet are, at best, silly, at worst, idiotic.
But the main problem is people insisting that I believe myself to be a better person than others. This is merely idiotic.
The issue folks who make this assertion have is they cannot comprehend that I consider myself as good of a person as anyone else, themselves included. anytime people are making an accusation of "You think you are better" the simple translation of this is: "I am better than you, stop thinking you are as good as I am." Which is an idiotic position and patently untrue.
I am a person of strong opinions and I will state them as opinions whenever I feel like it. If you do not care for my opinions you may either ignore me or deal with the repercussions should you wish to engage with me in a confrontational manner.
There are also some basic facts.
1) I am a competent poet
2) I am an excellent editor
3) I am an intelligent person
4) I do not concern myself with the opinions of others about me
And that is it.
