Some People Will Take this Blog Post as a Personal Attack
One of the things about which I am constantly amazed is the way people appear to have a visceral need to be offended or believe themselves attacked. In many instances I will write something I believe is innocuous and someone will come to my blog and insist I am talking about them and then attempt to drum up support for their need to be a victim.
Once again folks, I never attack by inference. Where the hell is the enjoyment in that? Oh I may highlight a behaviour for which I do not care but trust me, if I am attacking someone personally, I use names and incidents and get as personal as I can so there is absolutely no doubt.
Yet, inevitably, people seek out offense as if it is a rare and precious flower that they must capture and display for all to see.
In all honesty, why? What purpose does this serve? What is gained by such behaviour outside of portraying yourself as a victim? Perhaps some people need this, I honestly do not comprehend such motivation but then, I suppose I do not have to and, where I not dragged into the equation, I would just shake my head and walk away.
Instead what happens is that Person X will decide I am attacking them and they will attack me. I will find their behaviour entertaining and will highlight all of the reasons I can manufacture for why they are acting stupid. Person X will enlist Person Y to come to their defense and the process will start all over again and then they both get Person Z involved at which point I pull out any remaining stops and am as offensive as I can be within the rules of the site.
And then they complain that I am mean.
Folks, I am an asshole and I am by no stretch of the imagination nice but let's examine what goes on with my blog posts.
1) My blog posts are about issues or incidents, not individuals
2) My blog posts are personal opinions
3) Blog posts do not appear in the stream
4) People have to search out blog posts
5) If you read something in a blog post you believe is a personal slight, ask privately for an explanation
6) If you cannot ask privately and publicly whine and whimper and complain and moan, then I will, at the very best, ignore you
7) Chances are I will mock and ridicule you instead
8) I will have to write a version of this blog every six (6) months
To level-set, this blog is not about any single person. However, some people will take this blog post as a personal attack. These people are idiots.
What do I mean by idiots? I mean these are people who have no regard for logic or reason, who are so self-centered that they need to seek out confrontation where there is none, and then they whine about said confrontation when it turns out badly for them. And folks, confrontation with me concerning personal opinion always turns out badly. Idiots are not worth my time save for the entertainment value they provide as I spin them up and provoke them into ever more hysterical antics.
Does this make me a bad person in your eyes? Dear God I hope so, maybe then you'll leave me the fuck alone.
