Hollywood Hypocracy
I thought I would explore a little of the Hollywood stars hypocracy. They are quick to point out how we are ruining the planet and how big business is all about greed and making money. Big business doesn't care about the environment or people and they should pay more. They do this with fervency giving every indication they firmly believe what they say. Worse than that people hang on their every word praising them. They go to Cuba or Iraq or Iran and these other places claiming how much better it is there. The healthcare and hospitals are so wonderful in Cuba and Castro is so personable. I say bullshit!
How about, instead of preaching to us, they put their money where their mouths are. Instead of getting millions of dollars for being in a movie, they cap their salaries. Wouldn't you think $50,000.00 to $75,000.00 dollars per movie would be enough. This could have a great effect on the economy. Say a 10% profit margin for them and the producers would allow the rest of these profits to go toward healthcare for the poor, Another benifit is that theaters could drop their prices allowing lots more people to afford a night out at the movies.
An added effect is they wouldn't have these huge, energy eating multi-million dollar homes to maintain and that would have a very positive effect on the environment, plus without those palatial estates, there would be more greenery to absorb Carbon from the atmosphere. They wouldn't be driving these huge limos polluting the environment and would be flying around in their private jets adding tons of carbon to the atmosphere. Don't you think that would be very positive on their part. Of course there are a few drawbacks. They would have to cook their own food and maintain their own yards and that would put people out of work, but hey, if it is for healthcare and the environment, that's okay isn't it? That's the same they want to do to all business. The quality of the movies might suffer, but think of the energy savings without all those computers and other special effects generators that would not be energy hogs. It would also level the playing field as movie companies tried to cut costs by hiring less effective actors that really do deserve a chance. Just because they may not be as good doesn't mean they shouldn't get their chance. You don't really need those dresses and suits that cost hundred and thousands of dollars that you are only gonna wear once for show anyway do you?
Come on Hollywood, step up, be an example and practice what you so adamantly speak out about. Make the same sacrifices you want others to make. Save the planet, save the poor, make sure everyone is treated equally. Who will be first? Which of you will step up and put your money where your mouth is? Al Gore, will you be first? You are the one preaching this the hardest. Will you donate your millions and tear down that house that uses more energy in one month than the average household does in one year. Sell that private jet and quit polluting. Get rid of your limos and SUV's.
How about you Michael Moore? Are you willing to to only take a 10% profit like a lot of businesses so we can have healthcare like your great hero Castro in Cuba? After all, you wouldn't want to be seen as one of those greedy business men would you?
Jim Carey, you recently spoke out about how greedy business and people are. Renogotiate your contract so you only make fifty-seventy-five thousand per picture and the company donates all profits over 10% of the cost of the film to healthcare and saving the planet. Are you willing to do your share and not be seen as one of those greedy people?
There are so many of you speaking out and making these huge amounts of money, so ante up and be counted. How about all these rock musicians speaking out. Are you willing to ante up your profits and take a modest income? It would bring down prices, save the planet and help provide for the poor. Will you do it or just keep spouting empty platitudes for other people? Hey, you can even give charity concerts and match the amount of money collected on tickets.
All of you get together and make your sacrifices the way you want us to or SHUT THE HELL UP!
