Steal This Poem
Are you such a beggar
for words
that you would steal
this poem
as if it were yours,
sign your name
to my blood,
make mincemeat out my poem
string our skeletons together?
Recently there occurred an instance of plagiarizing a poem, sadly, in truth, in this very act the muse is killed. Creativity
is a blessing, unique in its bestowing and the truth will always come out sooner or later. Why not start from scratch if
you have to? A blank paper and your heartfelt feelings and thoughts, your own images and adventures.
A devil-may-care attitude does not include stealing that which is not yours.
