In Memory, September 11, 2001

I remember exactly where I was September 11, 2001. I was on I-45 North close to the Greenspoint Mall in Houston, Texas. I was listening to News radio when they reported a plane had crshed into the first tower. Then they reported a second plane hit the other tower. Soon there were reports of a plane hitting the Pentagon. Later the reports came out about Flight 93. My daughter and son in law lived in Viginia and he worked in Washington not too far from the Pentagon. Where I don't know, but near. I immediately called and found out they were okay. I was one of the lucky ones that got through.

When the towers came down, I was sitting in the parking lot of a Jack in the Box Restaraunts and I was crying. I looked around and there were several groups of people standing there with shocked looks on their faces and tears in their eyes. It is odd how used to airplanes we are. I know that because that area is near Bush Intercontenental Airport, very busy in plane traffic and suddenly there were no planes in the air. It was eerie. That is all I can think of.

I wish to offer my sympathies to all the people of whatever race, whatever nationality, religious beliefs or non-beliefs. My heart still aches for you. There is still a hole in the heart of america's people. To the heroes, police, firefighters, medical personel, everyday citizens and the brave men and women aboard Flight 93 who lost their lives and the families of everyone, I salute you.

To the misguided fools and murderers and the masterminds of this, I only have two words for you. UP YOURS!

Rett
American and proud of it.
