Obama's Speech
As an avowed conservative who disagrees with 90% of President Obama's policies, I thought I would take this moment to give my views on the adress he made to the school children.
Admittedly, I had my doubts seeing the release of the Educational Departments talking points for the children afterward, then with the revisions they made I elected to wait and see what he had to say before making up my mind. Yeah, I know, to the left any conservative is considered a raving lunatic and the feeling toward the left by conservatives is mostly the same. In spite of this, I always look at both sides before making a decision.
Okay, to the meat of the subject, the speech. I found it very positive, very straightfoward with no agenda whatsoever, but an interest and a call for our children to apply themselves and succeed in whatever they do. It was uplifting, a challenge to the students to make their mark on the nation, themselves and the world. I was extremely impressed and found it to be a great speech. Credit where credit is due. He did wonderful.
That doesn't mean that I agree with his policies overall or the people he has surrounded himself with, but in this he was dead on right!
Respectfully,
